Makeup for camera is a different craft
A camera doesn't see what your eyes see. A flash flattens features and throws light straight back at anything reflective, which is how a face that looked luminous in the mirror turns up chalky and white in the photos — usually thanks to a product with SPF or heavy light-reflecting particles.
Makeup built for photographs accounts for that: definition that survives being flattened by a flash, the right kind of glow in the right places, and no ingredients that surprise you when the pictures come back. If your day is going to be photographed, tell me — it genuinely changes the products I reach for.
What people book it for
Weddings
Brides, mothers, bridesmaids and guests. The longest day and the highest stakes — and the one where long-wear matters most.
Photoshoots & headshots
Professional headshots, family portraits, senior photos, branding shoots. Built for the lens rather than the room.
Prom & formals
A look that survives dinner, dancing and several hundred photos. Often booked alongside event styling.
Milestones
Birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, quinceañeras — anything worth getting properly done up for.
How to get the best result
- ✦ Come with a clean, moisturized face. Moisturizer needs ten minutes to settle before makeup goes on top — apply it before you leave, not in the chair.
- ✦ Bring photos. Of looks you love, and of looks you don't. The second kind is often more useful.
- ✦ Don't try new skincare that week. A reaction two days before the event is a genuinely miserable way to find out you're sensitive to something.
- ✦ Say if you have sensitivities — latex, specific ingredients, contact lenses, watery eyes. All of it changes what I use.
Common questions
Should I book a trial before my wedding?
For a wedding, yes — it's worth it. A trial is where we find out whether your idea of "soft glam" and mine are the same thing, with time to adjust. Book it close enough to the day that your skin tone hasn't changed much.
Do you travel to me?
Yes, mobile appointments are available around Fresno and Clovis — useful on a wedding morning when nobody wants to be driving. Message me with your location and timing and I'll confirm the details.
Can you do hair and makeup together?
Yes — pair this with special event styling and book both so there's enough time. Message me for a group or bridal party and we'll plan a schedule that works backwards from when you need to leave.
Will it last all day?
That's the whole point of long-wear technique — prep, product choice and setting all matter more than touch-ups do. For a very long day in Fresno heat, I'll send you off knowing what to carry for a quick refresh.
