Fifteen minutes, and the smallest change that makes the biggest difference to your face. Brows frame everything — which is exactly why they're worth not doing yourself at 11pm with tweezers and bad lighting.

Shaping with your brow, not against it

Every few years a brow trend arrives and convinces everyone to change shape. Thin and arched, then thick and straight, then feathered and brushed-up. The trouble is that brows don't grow back on demand — over-plucking in your twenties can genuinely still be visible a decade later.

So I work with what you've got: your natural arch, your bone structure, the direction your hair actually grows. Cleaning up and refining a shape that already suits your face ages far better than imposing one that doesn't. If you want a noticeable change, we'll get there over a couple of appointments rather than all at once.

Please tell me if you use retinol

This matters more than most people realize. Retinoids, tretinoin, glycolic or salicylic acids and Accutane all thin the top layer of skin — and wax can lift that skin off along with the hair. It's not a small thing.

Stop using retinol or acids around your brows for about a week beforehand, and mention Accutane whenever you've taken it, even months ago. If in doubt, message me before booking and we'll sort it out.

Before and after

Before you come

  • Let them grow for two weeks if you can — there needs to be something to shape.
  • Pause retinol and acids around the brow area for a week.
  • Bring a photo if you have a shape in mind.

For 24 hours after

  • Skip makeup on the area, and keep your hands off.
  • No sauna, hot tub, sunbed or heavy workout — heat and sweat irritate fresh skin.
  • Sunscreen before you're out in Fresno sun; freshly waxed skin burns more easily.

A little pinkness for an hour or two is completely normal.

Common questions

How often should I come back?

Every three to four weeks keeps a shape consistent. Waxing on a regular cycle also catches the hairs at the same growth stage, which gives a cleaner result than coming in randomly.

Does it hurt?

Briefly, and it's over quickly. It's noticeably worse in the week before your period, so if you're sensitive, timing your appointment differently genuinely helps.

Can I get it done before an event?

Come two or three days before rather than the same morning. Any redness will have settled completely and you'll photograph better for it.

Can I add it to another appointment?

Easily — it's fifteen minutes. Plenty of people add it onto a haircut or color appointment. Mention it at booking so the time is there.
