Hair Color & Blonding in Fresno
Color is chemistry before it's anything else. Get the chemistry right and the color looks effortless. Get it wrong and no toner in the world fixes it — which is why I'd rather take two appointments to get you somewhere your hair can actually survive.

The honest conversation about going blonde
Almost everyone who sits down for blonding has seen a photo and wants to leave looking like it today. Sometimes that's realistic. Often it isn't — not because of skill, but because of where your hair is starting from.
Lightening works by opening the hair and removing pigment, and every strand has a limit to how much of that it can take in one sitting. If you're starting dark, or there's box dye in your history, or you've been lightened before, that limit arrives sooner. Push past it and you don't get lighter hair — you get damaged hair that breaks.
So I'll tell you honestly what's achievable in one appointment and what needs two or three spread over a few months. A slightly warmer blonde that's still healthy beats the exact shade you asked for and hair that snaps at the mid-lengths.
Please tell me about box dye
Not to judge — to plan. Box color, especially black or red, deposits pigment that behaves unpredictably when lightener hits it, and henna can react badly enough to be genuinely unsafe. Knowing what's in your hair changes how I approach it and can be the difference between a good result and a bad one. Same goes for any at-home lightening, however long ago.
What I offer
All-over color
A single shade, root to end. Going richer, deeper, warmer or cooler, or covering gray with full coverage. The most straightforward color service and usually the quickest.
Blonding
Lightening, then toning to the shade you're after. This is the service that most often needs more than one session, and the one where the consultation matters most.
Gloss & toning
No lift, just tone and shine. Takes brass out of blonde, refreshes faded color and adds the glassy finish that makes hair look freshly done. Quick, gentle, and the best-value way to stretch time between bigger appointments.
Gray blending
If full coverage every four weeks isn't the life you want, grays can be softened and blended instead so regrowth arrives gently rather than as a line.
Keeping it once you leave
Color fades fastest in the first two weeks, and most of what causes it is avoidable:
- ✦ Wait a couple of days before the first wash so the cuticle can settle.
- ✦ Wash cooler and less often than feels natural. Hot water opens the cuticle and color leaves with the water.
- ✦ Use a color-safe, sulfate-free shampoo — this matters more than any other product decision you'll make.
- ✦ Heat protectant every single time you use hot tools. Color-treated hair is more porous and takes heat damage faster.
- ✦ In a Fresno summer, UV and chlorine both pull color. A hat and a rinse after the pool do more than you'd expect.
Common questions
How long will it take?
This service is booked at 2h, but color is genuinely variable — length, density and starting color all change the timing. If your appointment is likely to run longer, I'd rather tell you at consultation than have you watching the clock.
Will it damage my hair?
Any lightening changes the hair's structure — that's unavoidable chemistry. What's avoidable is taking it too far in one sitting. Working within what your hair can handle, with bond-protecting products and honest limits, is how color stays healthy long-term.
Do I need a patch test?
If you've never had color before, or you've ever reacted to a hair product, message me before booking so we can sort a patch test in advance rather than discovering a problem on the day.
Color, or balayage?
All-over color changes everything uniformly and grows out as a visible line. Balayage is painted on for a lived-in, sun-lightened look and grows out softly — it's the lower-maintenance option. Not sure? Bring photos and we'll work it out.
